Princess Elizabeth in A. T. S. uniform
Towards the close of the Second World War, the Princess Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Services (A.T.S.). She is pictured here in it's uniform. Following a full course of training she became a motor mechanic. The Princess came of age in 1944 and began to make solo public appearances
