Red Cross motor soup kitchen donated by Burberry's
A motor soup kitchen presented to the Red Cross Society by Messrs. Burberry's of Haymarket in 1915. The vehicle was of a very compact and serviceable design and had been made to a special specification approved by the Society and supervised by the engineer of the R.A.C.'. The caption states that, "Hitherto the title shown on the car, "The Burberry, " has only been associated with teh firm's weatherproof topcoats. The firm also, of course, provided the indispensible trench coat for officers during the Great War
