Returned Mona Lisa 1913

Mona Lisa painting was stolen from the Louvre in 1911, by former employee Vincenzo Peruggia. Peruggia hid the painting in his Paris apartment for two years before taking it to Florence in 1913, where he attempted to sell it to an art dealer. He was arrested, the painting was recovered, and after a brief exhibition in Italy, it was returned to the Louvre.
