Royal Visit to France - King & Queen at Bagatelle
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth seated on eighteenth century chairs alongside President Lebrun and his wife, at the Bagatelle at which a large garden party, with around 4000 guests, was held in their honour. The royal visit was considered a huge success and the Queen's wardrobe, designed by Norman Hartnell, all in white due to the Queen being in mourning for her mother, was widely praised
