Royal Visit to France - King & Queen at the Louvre
The royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Paris in July 1938. On the afternoon of the 20th July the King and Queen, with President and Mme. Le Brun, visited the Louvre to see an exhibition of British art. In the background is Sir Kenneth Clark, surveyor of the King's pictures. The royal visit was considered a huge success and the Queen's wardrobe, designed by Norman Hartnell, all in white due to the Queen being in mourning for her mother, was widely praised
