Royal Wedding 1947 - bridal gifts
Superb jewels presented to Princess Elizabeth on the occasion of her marriage ot Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten on 20 November 1947. The top photograph shows a regal necklace of diamonds and rubies and a pair of earrings of baguette cut diamonds from King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and a diamond tiara, one of nine pieces of jewellery given by Queen Mary. The pearl necklaces below of picked and graduated pearls form another part of the present from the King and Queen
