Family tree showing how Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are both descended from Queen Victoria. Philip is the son of Princess Alice of Battenburg, who in turn was daughter of Princess Victoria of Hesse, eldest daughter of Princess Alice (second daughter of Queen Victoria). The Queen is descended directly from Alice's brother, King Edward VII
