Russian state jewels to be auctioned in London
Page from The Illustrated London News reporting on a sale of magnificent jewellery forming part of the Russian state jewels, which were auctioned at Christies in 1927. Most of the pieces dated back to the eighteenth century, and were made during the reigns of Empress Elizabeth and the Empress Catherine the Second.
