Senghenydd disaster at the Universal colliery, 1901
Scene at the Senghenydd Colliery Disaster, near Caerphilly, Glamorgan, South Wales. 82 miners and 50 horses were killed in the disaster on 24th May 1901; only 1 man and 2 horses survived; the precursor to an even greater disaster there in 1913
