Sir John Salmond (1862 - 1924)
Sir John Salmond, judge and legal scholar in New Zealand. Born in Northumberland, England, he emigrated to New Zealand with his family in 1876. He was knighted in 1918 and was appointed a judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in 1920. He was the New Zealand representative at the Washington Naval Conference from November 1921 to February 1922. He died in 1924 following a heart attack
