Sketches of the evictions in Ireland 1886
These sketches show scenes of evictions, trial, and Irish Land League activity in south west of Ireland. In the first sketch, the special artist of this publication is misunderstood by the crowd. In the second a pig darts back into a hut refusing to be evicted. In the third, a trial of Moonlighters (men who put up resistance after dark - whose activities included putting up posters and punishing people who cooperated with the authorities). The fourth shows this publication's artist visiting huts built at Coercion Hill by the Irish Land League for evicted tenants
