Sketches from Life for Coronation painting by Cuneo
Page from The Illustrated London News with sketches drawn from life by artist Terence Cuneo of various individuals taking part in the Coronation ceremony on 2nd June 1953. The portraits were used for a completed painting (see 13924841) which Cuneo presented to the Queen. Personalities featured are the Earl Marshal, the Duke of Norfolk, H.M. The Queen wearing St. Edward's Crown, Lord Simonds, the Lord High Chancellor and (in same picture, below right), the Marquess of Hartington, HRH The Duchess of Kent, the Hon. Sir George Bellew, Garter Principal King of Arms, Lady Jane Vane-Tempest-Stewart and (inset) Lady Anne Coke, two of the Maids of Honour, HRH, The Duke of Kent, the Heir Apparent, HRH, Prince Charles, Duke of Cornwall (as he was then), and Duncan Davidson, the page who received and held the coronets of peers doing homage
