Groups chatting and pulling faces while at dinner at the newly-opened Embassy Club in Cairo. Significant at the far end of the table is Miss Margaret Whigham (later Mrs Charles Sweeny, then Duchess of Argyll) and the Earl of Warwick. A popular debutante, Margaret and the Earl got engaged while in Cairo, to much excitement in the gossip columns, but she later broke it off just a few weeks before the wedding
