State banquet for the King of Sweden, 1908

Double page spread from The Graphic with illustrations of the magnificent state banquet given in honour of the King of Sweden during his State Visit to Britain in 1908. Main illustration (by Frederic de Haenen) shows King Gustaf V replying to his host, King Edward VII's toast. Vignettes either side, drawn by Douglas Macpherson, show the royal procession making its way towards the state banquet, while on the other side is an impression of the command performance of The Corsican Brothers staged in the Waterloo Chamber
