The Suffragette Coronation Procession, 1911
Scenes in London as 60, 000 suffragettes staged a spectacular march through London five days before the coronation of King George V. Photographs shows some well-known activists and supporters of the cause, Charlotte Despard, president of the Women's Freedom League, actresses Gertrude Elliott, Lena Ashwell and Cecilia (Cissie) Loftus while Miss Anna Bryce cut an impressive figure on horseback at Joan of Arc. Central picture shows the seven-mile-long pageant passing down the Victoria Embankment. Small inset picture shows a banner bearer of the Indian section
