Tatler cover, Battenberg Torby engagement

Prince George of Battenberg (1892-1938), 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven and Countess Nadejda Mikhailovna (Nada) de Torby, the daughter of the exiled Russian Grand Prince Michael, pictured on the front cover of The Tatler magazine on the announcement of their engagement in May 1916. They were married in the Chapel of the Russian Embassy in London and at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace on 15 November 1916. George was the third child and eldest son of Princess Victoria of Hesse and Prince Louis of Battenberg, and the uncle of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
