Tatler cover - the late Marquis of Anglesey
The Tatler reporting on the death of Henry Cyril Paget, 5th Marquis of Anglesey (1875 - 1905), on its front page. The Marquis was renowned for his lavish lifestyle and squandering his sizeable family fortune on jewels and clothes. Very keen on amateur dramatics, he converted the chapel at his family seat into a theatre called The Gaiety where he appeared in a various roles, always in expensive and flamboyant costumes. He died of tuberculosis in Monte Carlo in 1905
