Tom Titt of The Tatler, photographed by Angus McBean in 1948, twenty years after the artist had first begun to contribute theatrical caricatures to the magazine. Born Jan Junosza de Rosciszewski in Central Europe, he arrived in England to study art in 1907. His pseudonym derives from the first film he ever saw - Bird Life - a documentary of 1910, in which a tomtit featured
