Unity Mitford met at Folkestone, 1940
Unity Mitford, met at Folkestone by her father, Lord Redesdale (as well as police, officials and members of the press), after she had travelled back from Bern in Switzerland where she had been following her suicide attempt in Munich, Germany. An admirer and friend of Hitler, she shot herself when Britain declared war on Germany. She was badly wounded, and suffered brain damage, never returning to health and dying from meningitis in 1948
