Unveiling of Edward Colston statue in Bristol
Unveiling in Bristol on 16 November 1895, of the monument to Edward Colston, merchant and MP, by Irish sculptor, John Cassidy. Colston was a well-known benefactor of the city but the statue was pulled down by protestors on 7 June 2020 during Black Lives Matter demonstrations, because of Colston's involvement with the slave trade
