Veranda of the Wembley Stadium Club (greyhound racing)
The veranda of the new Wembley Stadium club, the latest resort of the elite who are interested in the newest sport in England, greyhound racing'. The construction was carried out by Sir Owen Williams, the architecture by Maxwell Ayrton and the design by George Sheringham. The fashionable and luxurious interiors, featuring stylised greyhound decoration on chairs and planters, are an indication of the popularity of greyhound racing among smart society when introduced in the UK in the mid-1920s
