Whale found in the River Thames 1895
Boatmen find the body of a twenty-one feet bottle-nosed whale which was floating in the River Thames, London. The mammal had been killed by the propeller of a passing steamer, having two deep gashes in its side. It was towed ashore and stranded near the new Island Gardens at Millwall
