Winifred Crossley flying her Gipsy Moth upside down at the Norwich and Norfolk Aero Club in 1937. Winifred Crossley (1906 - 1984) was an aviator who was the first woman to be checked out on a Hurricane fighter. She was one of the First Eight, the initial group of women pilots to join the Air Transport Auxiliary. Before the war she was a stunt pilot and represented Bedfordshire at lawn tennis
