Anthony Hope Hawkins (1863-1933), novelist and playwright, formal studio portrait smoking cigarette. With description, A camera picture by Hoppe of the famous Ruritanian author who not infrequently smokes a cigarette (as shown), and is, in addition to being a delightful writer, an after-dinner speaker of great value. He once dumbfounded the American interviewers, on landing in New York, by explaining that he had gone over there for rest!
