: Christmas Dance, English Country House

Christmas Dance, English Country House

A scene from a Christmas party at an English country estate. The guests, dressed in their smartest attire, perform the Sir Roger de Coverley (or Coverly, or in Scotland The Haymakers'), a British country dance that is at least 300 years old. The name refers to a fox - the dance's steps resemble a fox darting in and out of cover while being hunted
