Graveyard at Intombi Camp
A graveyard at Intombi Camp during the Boer war (11 Oct 1899 " 31 May 1902). The attorney-general of the Cape introduced a Bill into the Cape Parliament authorising the expropriation of all lands where the dead who fell on both sides of the campaign lie buried. Proposed these sites are maintained as burial grounds at the cost of the colonial government. White crosses seen in the photograph mark the resting place of the soldiers killed at Intombi, the neutral camp beside the Klip River
