The staff on the ward of the military hospital at Abassieh, Egypt, under the direction of English sisters (nuns). Likely used in the Mahdist War, a war between Sudan and other nations including Britain and Egypt, which resulted in the joint-ruled Anglo-Egyptian Sudan in 1899
