Photographs of the River Thames flooding

Photographs of the River Thames flooding, at Twyford, Marsh Mills, and Wargrave. Captioned, Dam the Flowing Tide: Is the vain cry of Thames-side residents'. With description, The rainfall in the Upper Thames Valley has been heavier than in London, and in spite of the splendid arrangements of the Thames Conservancy the river has flooded out many riparian residents. Every weir on the river was opened in good time and the water allowed to escape seaward at a tremendous pace. The officials attending to the weirs have been up day and night
