A 12th century mosaic depicting Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, a Christian martyr of the early 4th century. The mosaic was removed from St Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery in Kiev (demolished 1934-5 and later reconstructed), and is now on display in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow
