Dustmen with horse cart, London
Flying Dustmen'. So called from their habit of flying from one district to another. In Lambeth, the dustmen came twice a week and took their load to the parish shoot. Some was mixed and treated to help make either manure or mortar, the rest sent down to the Thames estuary. The man in the centre was a civil and obliging dustman
