Nicholas Egon, artist, (1921-2017), London - Czechoslovak who emigrated to the United Kingdom where he became a leading portrait painter. Came to UK in about 1938. Near the end of World War II he served as the official artist with the British military in Basra. Image shows Egon working in his studio painting a ballet dancer
