Jun. 06, 1967 - Air Hostess Auctioned for Charity. Pretty Air Hostess Yvonne Green, of Tynemouth, Northhumberland, was auctioned in aid of charity, at Newcastle upon Tyne. Yvonne went to Tony Howse, of Newton Aycliffe Co. Durham, for 1.11s, who as soon as the slave auction was over, rang his wife to tell her that he would be late home - for the prize, with slave, included lunch, a visit to the cinema, dinner and champagne, and a visit to a New Castle night club. Yvonne dress in sackcloth was auctioned by Mr. Ron Markham, of the Oxford Salerooms, and the proceeds went to a nominated children's charity.
