Apr. 17 The Preacher with the Palette. Reverend John Pelling of Christ Church, Kensington, London feels that the pulpit is not the only way of conveying a message. he uses art to augment the doctrine of his religion, and to make his own comment and observations on the social and spiritual predicament of man in the 20th century, and 1970's man in particular. Crash Art is the term he uses to categories his work which is a comment on a society obsessed with sex and sensual matters, and is riddled with violence. His canvases, often Giants are very well received by the art world, and he has had several major exhibitions in top west End galleries and in the Guildhall. At the moment John Pelling is working on a more peacefuls subject- Back; for n exhibition later this year. He has no problem finding models, his wife Francoise often models for him, and he has ques of volunteers from his Art student at Sir John Cass College, London, where he lectures, The student have a great deal of aspect for the work of their lecturer, and are eager to be the model for a Pelling'. Rev John Pelling, aged 41, has studied and practised Art since his student days. He studied at Brighton, Sussex, at the Royal College of Art, London and in Paris where he met his wife. They now have 4 sons. His duties as a man of the church certainly aren't neglected either most of his art is practised in the early hours of the morning or very late at night
