Mar. 22 Don Follows Rosie - Off The Streets. Tomorrow is a sad day indeed for cinema queues in Leicester Square - for it marks the farewell performance of one of London's favourite buskers - One Man Band Don Partridge. After five years of street singing 23 year old Don, who plays guitar, drums, mouth organ and kazoo - all at the same time - is being inundated with bookings for radio; T.V. and folk clubs. This success is all due to the fact that Don;s first disc, Rosie which he wrote himself, has gone straight into the charts - Don was discovered by Don Paul, of EMI records, singing and playing in Berwick Street, Soho - delighting the shoppers in the market. So now it's the big time for Don - but busking hasn't meant a hard life for him - he lives in an £18 per week house in Putney, shared with a couple if friends - and can make anything up to £150 per week from singing in the street.
