Sep. 09, 1965 - The Wise Old Owl Is Sitting Pretty: This is the story of a barn owl which has come to term with man, and has never had it so good. Derek Gruss, of Odiham, Hants, found the owl abandoned by its mother in a hollow tree three months ago. He christened it Barney, raised it by hand, and now spends all his spare time hunting for food - mice and rabbits- for the bird to eat. Barney lives in a tree in the the back garden, enjoys rides on his master's motorcycles and often joins the hunt for food.
