Jul. 07, 1960 - Schoochildren Produce Giant Model Lighthouse from Matchboxes.: Members of class I at the Kelvedon Hatch County Primary School, Essex set themselves the task of making five foot model of Eddystone Lighthouse last March- and it has been completed today.It has been made from 1486 matchboxes-many of which were collected by the headmaster Mr. G. Jeffreys from thee inmates of H.M. Prison at Cjelm aford- to whom he lectures. Last year pupils made a model with 784 match boxes of the liner Queen Elizabeth. Tjeir next task is a Bridge in which they will use more than 2, 000 match boxes.Photo shows the Headmaster Mr. G. Jeffreys helps the pupils put the finishing touches to the model at the school this morning
