Giant tortoise destined for American zoo

Jul. 31, 1954 - Animals leave for American Zoos: Animals destined for the Chicago and Washington Zoos, were liaded aboard the Andria at King George V Dock this morning. Mr. Reg Boom, of Walton-on-Naze, the hunter who captured the animals in East Africa will accompany them to United States. His wife, who was in East Africa when they were captured will not be going.
