Landlady Mrs. Raum Is Freed: Mrs. Elsie Raum
Sep. 09, 1970 - Landlady Mrs. Raum Is Freed: Mrs. Elsie Raum, the defiant landlady who went to Holloway Prison after she refused to obey a court order to take back a family she had evicted from her eighteen-room home - was free today, after the tenant, Mr. Charles McCready had withdrawn his application for repossession of the five-room flat in her house at Anerley-road, Penge. Mrs. Raum had gone to Croydon Country Court from Holloway prison this morning, where the application was to have been heard. Her apology for contempt was accepted. Photo shows Mrs. Elsie Raum, pictured this morning on the arm of her son John, after leaving Croydon County Court
