Feb. 29 MARBLES CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT TINSLEY GREEN.. Yhe Annual Good Friday marbles championships were held this morning at the village of Tinsley Green, on the Surrey-Sussex border.The contest dates back to Armada days when two village swains competed for the hand of a maiden in a game of marbles..
