Mar. 03, 1958 - Work Commences On Restoration At Stonehenge: Work on the restoration of Stonehenge began yesterday - a fallen trilithon consisting of two uprights and a lintel, is to be re-erected, and three stones in the outer circle which fell in 1900 are to be replaced. Metal flooring has been placed on the ground to avoid damage by the 60 ton cranes - employed in the task. Photo shows: Lifting some of the stones - at start of the restoration work at Stonehenge
