1960 - Princess Margaret and fiance follow the race. Oxford win the boat race.: The annual Boat race between Oxford and Cambridge, from Putney to Mortlake, was won by the Oxford crew by 1 1/4 lengths, The race was watched by Princess Margaret and her fiance, Mr Antony Armstrong-Jones, who followed the crews in the Cambridge University launch Amary. In 1950, Mr. Armstrong-Jones was cox of the winning Cambridge crew.
