Oct. 10, 1971 - Voted Top British Singer.: Twenty-two year old Sonja Kristina, a headmaster's daughter from Grays, Essex, is the new Queen of Britain's girl singers it was revealed today in a poll conducted among readers of the music paper Sounds'. Sonja, who is a former actress and who for two years appeared in the hit musical Hair, is now the lead-singer with Curved Air, the British group currently riding high in the charts with Backstreet Luv, which was written by Sonja.
