The French Imperial family at Camden Place, Chiselhurst
LOUIS NAPOLEON III (1808 - 1873), with his wife and son at Camden Place, Chislehurst. Ex-French Emperor Napoleon III with his wife the former Empress Eugenie with their son, Louis, the Prince Imperial, at Camden Place, Chiselhurst in Kent, where they spent the first years of exile. Eugenie and her son arrived in September 1870, while the Emperor joined them in March 1871 after he was released from captivity by the Prussians. The Emperor died here in 1873
