Grave of Prince Maurice of Battenberg 1918
Grave of Prince Maurice of Battenberg (1891 - 1914). Maurice was the youngest grandchild of Queen Victoria; the son of Princess Beatrice and Prine Henry of Battenberg. He fought at Mons in August 1914 and survived the long retreat that followed. He fought on the Aisne, and on 27th October, was leading an attack on a German position at Ypres when he was wounded by a shell explosion. He died on his way to the dressing station at the age of just 23. Photograph showing King George VI visiting hes cousins grave, just after WWI had ended in France
