Poster Pageant - Advert for Pears Soap, Bubbles 1920
The pageant was to promote the up-and-coming International Advertising Exhibition at White City, London. Over a mile long in the West End, well known familiar bill board posters, made into life figures of early 1920s hoardings. This little boy is dressed up as the famous Bubbles the 1886 painting by John Everett Millais which was purchased by Thomas Barratt of Pears and reborn as a hugely successful advertisement for their transparent soap
