WPC Lesley Moore, Metropolitan Police, Stanhope Gold Medal
The Stanhope Gold Medal of the Royal Humane Society, awarded to WPC Lesley Moore, Charing Cross Division, Metropolitan Police, London in January 1992, for showing great courage in helping a workman who had fallen 50 feet onto a sloping roof in Ryder Street SW1. Despite the dangerous location, Moore gave First Aid and resuscitation in strong winds, and used her tunic as a pillow for the injured man. After about an hour the Fire Brigade were able to secure the man and take him to hospital. Sadly, he died some days later
