17th Century map of the County of Westmoreland, England
This map of Westmorland 1610 by John speed is a very attractive and ornate map. It has an inset town plan of Keswick with a key to the sites. there is a narrative about Malcolm, King of the Scots attacking Northumberland but ending up marrying a Saxon princess Margaret and producing an heir King James.There is a title cartouche with the Royal Coat of Arms and three other strapwork cartouches with coats of arms and allegorical figures
