Lady Uffington, a beautiful war bride, 1917
Lady Uffington, formerly Miss Williamina Mary George (d. 1974) daughter of Mr. William George, town clerk of Invergordon, Ross-shire. Featured in The Tatler as a recently married war bride'. Her marriage to William George Bradley Craven, 5th Earl of Craven who served in the 3rd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment during the war (he was wounded). The 5th Earl succeeded to the title in 1921 after his father accidentally drowned at Cowes. He died of peritonitis in 1932
