Laura Cowie, Scottish actress (1892 - 1969), photographed by Madame Yevonde at the time she appearing as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Savoy Theatre in London. Yevonde photographed Cowie on a number of occasions, and this informal portrait is one of the earliest photographs she had published in The Tatler or any other society magazine
