Millicent, Duchess of Sutherland by Madame Yevonde
Millicent Fanny Sutherland-Leveson Gower- [ne Millicent Fanny St Clair-Erskine], duchess of Sutherland (1867?1955), society hostess and social reformer, featured in the Tatler magazine in 1918 who speak of her work running a Red Cross hospital during the war. The Duchess was the widow of the 4th Duke by this time and had remarried in 1914 to Lieut.-Colonel P. D. Fitzgerald of the 11th Hussars
